Toyota and DOCOMO test T-HR3 teleoperation with 5G and simulated distance delay

Toyota and NTT DOCOMO reported a T-HR3 teleoperation trial using low-latency 5G. Toyota’s detailed release specifies a Yokosuka test environment that added measured delay to simulate the approximately 10 km Odaiba–Tokyo Skytree communication path. It reports force-feedback tasks including holding a ball, stacking blocks and shaking hands at performance comparable to a wired connection. A separate public demonstration was planned for December. The result concerns remote human control; it should not be read as autonomous operation or as proof that the laboratory trial physically spanned 10 km.
